Who should take the exam?

To earn a CPSM designation, candidates are required to complete three exams, which can be undertaken in any sequence:
  • Supply Management Core
  • Supply Management Integration
  • Leadership and Transformation in Supply Management

Applicants must have either three years of full-time, professional experience in supply management (excluding clerical and support roles) along with a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution or its international equivalent, or five years of full-time, professional experience in supply management (again, excluding clerical and support roles) without holding a qualifying bachelor's degree.

The requisite experience must be garnered from a professional role primarily focused on supply management, typically involving decision-making responsibilities and exercising independent judgment. It's important to note that ISM doesn't mandate candidates to have experience across all facets of supply management or hold a managerial position. Those who hold a current C.P.M. certification are exempt from providing proof of work experience.
