Okta Certified Developer Exam FAQs

Candidates will need a computer with a video camera, audio (both microphone and speaker capability), a browser, and a strong internet connection. Also candidate must bring their ID to verify their identity prior to starting an exam.

Okta Certification exams are scheduled and proctored online through Examity. First, you must register by creating a user profile on the Examity site. Complete registration and scheduling instructions can be found in the Examity User Guide.

Okta Certified Professional and Administrator examination fees are $150 USD for each attempt. The Okta Certified Consultant Exam fee is $300 for every attempt. No discounts are provided for retakes. Payment for the exam is done during the appointment method and may be paid for by credit card or by utilizing an exam voucher given by Okta.

  • Exam consists of two parts: Part I = 45 DOMC items and Part II = Four performance-based hands-on use cases

After the candidate achieves a credential, they must fulfill requirements in order to keep credentials current and use the Okta certification logos. This may involve the completion of special training, recertification examinations, or even appearing for core exams at designated intervals. Okta Certified Developers are technically proficient at building secure, seamless experiences using Okta APIs and SDKs. Developers have experience working with RESTful APIs and developing web applications. They have general understanding of authentication and authorization standards such as OpenID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth, as well as how Okta supports these standards for building authentication, flexible authorization, and role-based access control. Developers also have experience configuring authorization with API Access Management and implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) with OIDC. They have a working knowledge of Okta Lifecycle Management and administrative APIs.
