It tests your ability to operationalize, maintain, and troubleshoot a Tanium Cloud environment. Skills Required

To do well in this exam, you should already have:

• TCO Certification (Tanium Certified Operator) as a prerequisite. 
• At least two years’ experience managing endpoint solutions for servers and/or workstations. 
• Hands-on familiarity with Tanium’s administrative functions: user/permissions management, client settings, roles, etc. 
• Some experience with troubleshooting, maintaining platform health, and working in Tanium Cloud environments. 
• Completion or exposure to the Tanium Administrator 3.0 course is strongly recommended. 

Knowledge Gained

After preparing for and passing the TCA exam, you’ll be able to:

• Configure logical groupings, client settings, RBAC (roles/permissions), installer artifacts, etc. 
• Monitor and maintain system-health: ensure clients communicate, manage filters/groups, handle API tokens, manage sensors, etc. 
• Troubleshoot core platform issues (reporting, communication, RBAC, performance). 
• Understand advanced configuration: action groups vs manual/dynamic, when to use personas, when to use computer groups vs filter groups, etc. 
• Integrate with external tools, apply advanced question-filtering, and manage secure operations like two-person integrity. 

Who Should Take the Exam?

You should consider the TCA Exam if you:

• Already hold the TCO certification. 
• Are or want to be a Tanium Administrator: managing users, configuration, clients, troubles-hooting, etc.
• Have been working with endpoints (servers/workstations) for a couple of years in operations/security roles.
• Need the ability not just to ask questions and report, but to keep Tanium running smoothly, resolve issues, and maintain compliance at scale.
• Are planning to take on roles that require more responsibility around platform stability, user access, updates, and integrations.

• Exam Format: Combination of multiple-choice questions + practical application items. 

• Exam Score: Total of 60 score points. 

• Exam Duration: About 110 minutes seat time. 

• Exam Prerequisite: Must have TCO Certification.

Domain 2 - Troubleshooting (~ 18%)

• Diagnose reporting/communication issues between endpoints and server
• Gather or adjust logs; change log settings at endpoints
• Diagnose endpoint performance problems
• Troubleshoot core platform issues, including RBAC errors 

Domian 3 - Maintain (~ 44%)

• Monitor the overall health of the Tanium platform (clients communicating, etc.)
• Manage computer groups and content migration when users are disabled
• Manage API tokens
• Follow two-person integrity procedures (for tasks that need dual control)
• Manage sensors (registering sensors, especially with TDS)
• Optimize client settings 

Domain 4 - Tanium Platform Advanced Knowledge (~ 8%)

• Apply advanced question filtering techniques
• Configure Tanium integrations (external tools, etc.)
